From Christian Cliques to Covenant Communities #PrayerfulResistance

  • Salisbury Hotel, Room 501 123 West 57th Street New York, NY, 10019 United States

Small groups are not supposed to be cliques of the same race, ethnicity, gender, economic or political backgrounds. They are not social clubs or a holy social network for a new job.

They are supposed to be diverse communities of men and women broken by an encounter with Jesus, saved by grace and filled with Holy Spirit. They should desire to His kingdom come more fully in them, the people around them and the world - for God's Glory and Our Benefit. But Sunday is still the most segregated day of the week by race and class, and small groups (if they have them) have the potential to be disconnected from and irrelevant to the suffering and brokenness of our present day.

This is an invitation out of cultural Christianity to form diverse Covenant Communities focused on reflecting His Kingdom in this world. Come alone ready to meet people or bring 2-3 friends who desire to be more than seat fillers on Sunday mornings.
