Let's Talk Avodah | How Do I Talk About Politics & Injustice at Work?

  • The Lamb's Church 61 Rivington Street New York, NY, 10002 United States (map)

Part 4 of our series is, "How do I talk about politics and injustice at work?" This Independence Day weekend, Donald Trump is President and there are many people who are delighted in that reality and many who are afraid. What both of these groups have in common is mistrust, cynicism and anger. What is also true is that America is not the Kingdom of God and our citizenship in heaven governs, not the US government.  So, how do we participate in the ministry of reconciliation as followers of Jesus sent out to seek shalom when there is so much brokenness? Let's talk Avodah! Join Jonathan Walton and our speaking team for practical biblical responses to live in the reality of true freedom in Christ.

How Do I Participate?: Click here to RSVP. PLEASE RSVP. The deadline for registration for this event is Wednesday, June 28th at 11:59PM . These events are free and open to everyone and are sustained by your generosity. Click here to make a contribution to these essential discipleship programs.

Background | What is Avodah?

Avodah comes from a Hebrew word whose root has three distinct yet intertwined meanings: work, worship, service. The root of this ancient word speaks life to the present day. If God can and should be the center of every sphere of our lives, how do we do that with our jobs? Especially in a culture oriented around greed, pursuit of wealth, and success at any cost?  We aim to inform, inspire and equip the next generation of marketplace leaders with the tools necessary to reframe, integrate, and apply faith in Jesus especially into their everyday employment. With a generous grant from the Lilly Foundation our 7-Part lecture and discussion series invites all attendees to Avodah Our God at and through their vocation.
