Why Christians Must Seek Justice and Shalom

  • New Life Fellowship (Sanctuary) 82-10 Queens Boulevard Queens, NY, 11373 United States (map)

InterVarsity's New York City Urban Project exists to develop leaders with the character and capacity to change the world; and then commission them to do so.

Isaiah 1:17 calls us to learn to do right, seek justice, and plead the case of the orphan, the widow and the fatherless. But how do we practically do that? In New York City labor and sexual exploitation, homelessness, educational inequality and other injustices make seeking justice difficult. What does the Gospel have to say about our suffering and how can we respond in word, deed and with God as our power?

Come and hear from Jonathan Walton, the founder of the LoGOFF Movement and director of InterVarsity's New York City Urban Project how Jesus speaks to our suffering and compels us to respond in love and action. And, hear from Shandra Woworuntu, founder of Mentari and survivor of human trafficking.

You will leave informed, inspired and equipped with resources to love your neighbors! All are welcome. Please RSVP here
