Good Soil. John 3: 1-21 Nicodemus, an important man, a Pharisee, in contrast to his colleagues, steps out to seek Jesus. Pray for those on campus in influential positions to awaken to Jesus’ power, life and wisdom; that they might begin bringing their questions to him. Who are those people on campus? May the weeds and rocks be taken out so that they may become good soil.

Week of Aug 22: Theme: Good Soil.

“Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop-30, 60 or 100 times what was sown.” (Mark 4: 20)

Good Soil. Bold Witness. Changed Hearts. 

Ephesians says that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we can ask or imagine. And as I hear that 5 people came to faith at the Hope Fair, the Dreyfus Foundation wants to meet with the leadership of Manhattan Bible Church to create community based programs, and that students from this past six weeks are making radical commitments to follow Jesus, I am on the brink of tears. 

It was cool for a July night. The breeze felt pleasant as it brushed against my skin and hair. Mine was one of six laughing faces enjoying the breeze and the company sitting on a stoop in the South Bronx.
